Looking Back

Looking Back, Poems 1962-2021

I strive for clarity and meaning, for empathetic comprehension. I want my reader to feel the frisson of recognition.

This line from my poem “Poetry Doubts” is, I think, an accurate explanation of my objective in writing poetry. It’s a high standard that I fear I fail to achieve more often than not. I leave it to the perceptive reader to make your own judgment.

Recently published, Looking Back is a collection of poems created from 1962-2021.

Three of the poems from this collection, Yom Kippur, 2004, Lake Michigan and Pool Games are included under the POETRY page.
